Welcome to School for Inspiring Talents – Ashburton
Place House is in Ashburton, on the edge of Dartmoor. Our school provides a rural setting that offers children the space to develop, grow, and establish links with the wider community.
Welcome to Place House
Our school has five classes, each with access to sensory rooms, reflective spaces, and harbours (calm rooms).
Our peaceful, rural setting benefits from plenty of outdoor space available for students to explore. All classes have regular access to our outdoor classroom and Forest School area – we also make the most of the extended grounds on long walks.
The facilities and variety of learning environments support our staff to build positive relationships based on trust with all our students, regardless of individual interests.
At College House we have five classes. Our children are aged between 10 and 16 years old. Classrooms are all close to sensory rooms, reflective spaces and harbours. As well as taking part in their lessons each day, children have plenty of outdoor space available in the garden area and we also have a Forest School area where they can play, make dens, and even have a barbecue! We also have regular visits from Chris, our Outdoor Therapeutic Practitioner and Blu, our therapy dog.
Staff take every opportunity to build positive relationships and to make sure we are engaging children in their areas of interest, as well as planning for the next stage of their journey, whatever that may be.
