Well done to Luke!

Well done to Luke!

Well done to Luke!

We want to say a HUGE well done to our student Luke who has completed Hospiscare’s Marathon in a Month challenge to raise money for the local charity.

Luke walked the impressive 26.2 miles across the East Devon coastal paths. Despite a few rough moments facing the many steep hills, he didn’t give up, walking up to 7 miles in a day.

“I am so proud of Luke!” says his chaperone on the walk, Jan. “Even when it got tough at times, he would just have a quick pit stop and a ham sandwich and be ready to go again.

Luke discovered places that he had not visited before and learned some Devon history along the way. The route took him across coast and countryside locations including Seaton, Beer, Branscombe, Ladram Bay and Budleigh, Roundball Hill, Sidford and Ottery St Mary.

Luke has so far raised £105.00 for Hospiscare, a charity that supports over 2000 patients and their families living with a terminal illness across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

Luke’s teacher, Darren, added, “It has been inspirational to see how Luke has embraced this physical and mental challenge, as well as raising money for charity in the process. We are all very proud and hope that others will recognise his achievement and support his fundraising.”
